Pharmacy Technician - Starting May 2026 (Job Overview)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM) | Saturday (8AM-4:30PM)

Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists by verifying medication doses and entering necessary patient information.
- Ensure accurate dispensing of medications to patients using appropriate procedures.
- Maintain adequate stock of medications, following safety protocols when stocking.
- Adapt to workload demands by adjusting priorities as needed.
- Process insurance adjudications and pre-authorizations in a timely manner.
- Complete Daily and Monthly Activity checklists, including expired drug checks and area inspections.
- Offer and document appropriate counseling time for patients.
- Communicate effectively with referring physicians' offices and insurance companies.
- Conduct weekly controlled substance cycle counts and document findings.
- Participate in the education and training of new and current pharmacy employees.
- Deliver excellent customer service in line with Legacy Community Health's standards.
- Engage in hand-off communication during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Report unresolved issues to the Pharmacist, Manager, Pharmacy.
- Share information regarding drug shortages, availability, and pricing with pharmacists and peers.
- Track and provide information on non-stock requests and recommend par adjustments.
- Participate in interim and annual physical inventories.
- Run reporting tools to support medication adherence tracking.
- Support the Manager, Pharmacy Operations with 340b program inventory integrity.
- Maintain prescription files according to policy, completing daily filing tasks.
- Perform cash collection and reconcile prescription fills against billing.
- Undertake other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate.
- Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must be able to pass a math test pertinent to retail pharmacy activities.
- Must maintain BLS/CPR.
- Must maintain required certifications.
- Must have two (2) years healthcare experience.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 1+ years community pharmacy preferred.
- 1+ years pharmacy logistics preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community and the general public.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrate project management skills and understanding of 340b regulations, inventory management, and managing a cash register.
- Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
- Computer experience with Windows, Excel, and Accounting software.
- Bilingual preferred.
